Electrical
Testing

Commercial, domestic and landlord EICR testing, otherwise known as an Electrical Inspection Condition Report (EICR) or periodic electrical testing, is a full-scale inspection of your electrical systems and installation. Although periodic inspection and testing is primarily aimed at keeping an electrical installation in a safe state it can also have other financial benefits such as identifying possible upcoming equipment failures that could interrupt production, providing advice on energy saving and reducing running costs.

Electrical installations are not immune to the process of ageing, deterioration and even general wear and tear. For this reason, an EICR should be conducted at regular intervals. British Standard BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) recommends the following intervals for businesses, landlords and homeowners:

  • Businesses – employers are recommended to have an EICR test undertaken once every five years.
  • Buy-to-let or rented property – landlords should have an EICR test done every five years or when new tenants enter the property.
  • Homeowners – an EICR is recommended every 10 years.
  • We also offer thermal imaging services for peace of mind.

PAT
Testing

Portable appliance testing (PAT) is the term used to describe the examination of electrical appliances and equipment to ensure they are safe to use. Most electrical safety defects can be found by visual examination but some types of defect can only be found by testing. However, it is essential to understand that visual examination is an essential part of the process because some types of electrical safety defect can’t be detected by testing alone.

The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 require that any electrical equipment that has the potential to cause injury is maintained in a safe condition. We can help your business with compliance needs with asset registers & Pat Testing

Emergency
Lighting

The maintenance of emergency lighting cannot be understated. Although it is the hope of the industry that its a function of safety that is not required we can help you with your needs to fulfil your role. Whether that’s as a HMO landlord or a building manager trying to meet building regulations.

We cover testing, repairs, logbooks & safety signage.
